Outdoor Engagement Director Receives National Park Service Award

The National Park Service (NPS) recognized Southern Utah University’s Director of Outdoor Engagement, Dr. Briget Eastep, as a recipient of the 2016 Director’s Partnership Award. The Director’s Partnership Award is a distinguished honor from Jonathan B. Jarvis, director of the NPS.

Southern Utah University’s Outdoor Education Series

Southern Utah University is sponsoring a free Outdoor Education Series starting September 15 and running through December 8. The one-hour lecture series will highlight outdoor opportunities from experts in the field. The OES is every other Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the SUU Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room (unless otherwise noted).

Dixie National Forest, Southwest Wildlife Foundation, SUU Partner to host Cedar City BioBlitz Festival

The Dixie National Forest, Southwest Wildlife Foundation and Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History at Southern Utah University with funding from National Geographic have partnered to host the first Cedar City BioBlitz at Cedar Canyon Nature Park August 26-27th.

Conserving Native American History

Through a collaborative partnership between Southern Utah University and the Frontier Homestead State Park (FHSP), a new Native Heritage Exhibit has been added to the museum.

University Wide Field Trip Celebrates the National Park Service Centennial

Southern Utah University will participate in the National Park Service Centennial on August 25 with an institutional wide effort, SUU Day in the Parks. The entire SUU community of students, faculty, and staff are invited to spend the centennial exploring the amazing parks and recreational areas surrounding campus.
